• Built from Scratch: Without any government funding, private sponsorship, or external technical assistance, Shakeel personally designed and built the complete radio station within just two months through tireless dedication.

• First Broadcast: On 14 February 2000, FM2000 went on air for the very first time, quickly becoming one of the most popular and trusted communication platforms in Swat Valley.

• A Voice for the Community: The station united people from diverse backgrounds, giving young talent an opportunity to be heard while promoting education, awareness, culture, and community values.

• Commitment to Legality: Understanding the importance of lawful broadcasting, Shakeel formally applied for an FM broadcast license. However, the application could not be approved due to complex regulations, political challenges, and financial constraints.

• Nine Months of Success: Despite these obstacles, FM2000 continued broadcasting successfully for nine memorable months, earning the admiration and support of thousands of loyal listeners.

• A Difficult Decision: Growing political pressure and concerns about the possible misuse of the station in the future compelled Shakeel to voluntarily suspend FM2000’s transmissions.

• Responsible Closure: To ensure the equipment could never be misused against the national interest, he dismantled and disposed of the entire transmission system.
