“One global achievement can change the direction of your entire career.“
In 2009, I experienced a career-defining moment that I will never forget.
I participated in a global Customer Satisfaction competition organized by Mitsubishi Electric Japan, bringing together employees from more than 30 countries.
The competition was intense, the standards were exceptionally high, and the challenge was unlike anything I had experienced before.
Against this global competition, I secured 1st place and received the prestigious Mitsubishi Electric – Grand Excellence Award, issued by the CEO of Mitsubishi Electric in Tokyo, Japan.
It was more than an award. It was a turning point.
That recognition strengthened my confidence, opened doors to continuous learning, brought global recognition, and contributed to my professional growth and promotions.
Eventually, this journey led me to become Head of Quality & Safety Department (QHSE) , a milestone I look back on with immense pride and gratitude.
Looking back, this experience taught me three important lessons:
(1) Excellence has no geographical boundaries.
Your skills, dedication, and commitment can earn recognition on a global stage.
(2) Confidence grows when you challenge yourself.
Stepping outside your comfort zone can reveal capabilities you never knew you had.
(3) Recognition is a beginning, not the destination.
Every achievement should inspire you to learn more, take on greater responsibilities, and create a lasting impact.
My biggest takeaway: Never underestimate what one opportunity can do for your career. Prepare well, give your best, and let your work speak for itself.
